Walleye is
found in 5 of the 6 lakes we fish.

will be fishing remote lakes during the day.

caught in Iceland lake and to 12 lb are caught in Driftwood lake. As these
are remote lakes, they are fished during daylight hours.

Suggested Tackle for Walleye
-
Medium action rods with 6 to 8 lb
test line Trilene XL or XT (GREEN) works well in our TEA STAINED water. We
do NOT use leaders when fishing for walleye.
-
LURES - Gogetters or lindy rigs or
worm harnesses ( all similar ) with spinner blade colors of chartreuse,
hammered gold or silver, perch striped, orange or red.

-
Techniques used for this tackle is
SLOW trolling, back trolling, drifting and anchoring once you find the fish.
ALWAYS WORK THE BOTTOM. Does the boat appear to be moving? You may be going
too fast.
-
Casting along shorelines in early
spring with rapalas or husky jerks can bring good results as the walleye are
shallow in 10’ or less of water. Sometimes in 2 to 4 ft of water.
-
Jigs with twister tails ( chartreuse,
white or yellow ) work well during the summer on shoals or dropoffs. These
can be tipped with minnows or night crawlers. SLOW approach. Again working
the BOTTOM.
-
Shore lunches are prepared by your
guide on an island in Wasaksina Lake. Shore lunches include morning caught
walleye, beans of course, french fries, onions, bread & butter and homemade
cookies. When fishing without a guide, you are welcome to use the island to
prepare your own fresh walleye lunch. Our only request is to leave the
island as you found it, clean, we hope.
