Northern
Pike Fishing

Northern Pike fishing is open year
round.
We
encourage live release after taking a picture.
Northern Pike are found in all
6
lakes we fish.
HERRIDGE and WASAKSINA
lakes are where you are most likely to catch larger northerns. Both lakes
have had northerns taken in the 20 lb plus range. The average size is 3 to 8
lb.
ICELAND LAKE being a shallow
weedier lake ( average depth of 10’ ) has larger numbers of northerns. The
average size is 3 to 6 lb with some in the 8 to 10 lb range.
VIOLET LAKE being a long
narrow lake with several beaver lodges, lots of downed trees along the
shoreline and some weed beds is a good lake for pike fishing. The average
size is 4 to 7 lb. Pike in the 8 to 10 lb range are regularly caught.
CATCH and RELEASE LAKE with an
average depth of 9 to 10’ with some weed beds and good cover along
shorelines has good numbers of northerns in the 3 to 6 lb range with larger
northerns ( 8 to 9 lb ) regularly caught.
We suggest fishing WEEDBEDS, BEAVER
LODGES, LARGE TREES WHICH HAVE FALLEN IN or OVERHANG THE WATER, ROCKY POINTS
and DROPOFFS.
CASTING or sometimes TROLLING works
well.
